Sports socks are specifically designed for sports activities. Their main functions include moisture wicking, shock absorption, preventing friction damage, and foot stability, helping to improve athletic performance, reduce the risk of injury, and enhance wearing comfort. Their effectiveness is primarily reflected in their materials, structural design, and functional suitability.

Sports socks are mostly made of synthetic materials such as polyester, nylon, and acrylic fibers, or blends with natural fibers such as wool (e.g., merino wool). These materials can quickly absorb and wick away sweat, keeping feet dry and preventing problems such as slippage, blisters, and even bacterial growth caused by dampness.

Preventing Friction and Blisters: Repeated friction between the feet and shoes during exercise can easily cause blisters. Sports socks reduce friction and skin irritation by using thicker weaves, seamless construction, or gel padding in areas prone to friction, such as the arch, heel, and toes.

Temperature regulation. Breathable mesh design or insulating materials (such as winter sports socks) help adapt to different ambient temperatures, maintain a comfortable feel for the feet, prevent stuffiness in summer, and prevent frostbite in winter.
